This painting includes two of my favorite themes in my art:
1. I love to reinterpret traditional themes with a modern color palette and textured brush strokes, and
2. I love to combine "high" and "low" elements--luxury and everyday. The pairing of a flashy peacock and an everyday pigeon are a reminder that everyday life is beautiful.
My chinoiserie paintings are a blend of both sides of my heritage. Each work is signed with both my American English signature and my red seal.
The canvas measures 24 x 38 inches. The 1.5" deep sides are white. The painting can be displayed framed or unframed.
