The Contentment of the Bird:

The Great Blue Heron and its friend, the Crane. Adaptable to their surroundings. Never concerned with their next move or where their next meal will come from. They weather each storm that comes to pass, never wavering. They are stable, perceptive, grounded and have a deep sense of contentment in everything they do. Oh, to be like these majestic birds. Content.

A Statement From The Artist:

When I made my first Contentment of the Bird collection, we were a year into our fertility journey. And a journey it was. I really struggled to watch those around me getting pregnant, having babies, building their families. I was happy for them and sad for me. I recognized that I needed to learn how to be content. Like the bird. The birds do not hoard their needs. They do not wonder where their next meal is coming from. And yet they do not worry. They are content.

Now, four years later, we have been blessed with two beautiful babies. And I am learning, yet again, what it means to be content in this new season of life.
