Artist Feature: Michelle Brunner | Impressionist Painter of Coastal Calm

We’re delighted to feature Michelle Brunner, one of the talented artists showcased in the upcoming KP Art Collective November 8th release, going live at 10:00 AM ET. Michelle’s work is a celebration of light, atmosphere, and the quiet beauty of coastal living—inviting collectors to bring a sense of serenity and nostalgia into their homes.

Inspired by the Lake and the Light

Michelle’s impressionist paintings are rooted in the landscapes she knows best: the peaceful shores of Lake Erie, the shimmer of sunlight across the water, and the color harmony found in nature’s details.

“I’m inspired by the beauty I see all around me—the sun glistening across the lake, the different shades of green in the trees, the sailboats drifting by, and the charming gardens that line the shore,” Michelle shares. “I try to capture those delightful moments in paint.”

Her signature subjects—sailboats, hydrangeas, and sunlit gardens—capture the timeless charm of coastal life. These soft, luminous paintings bring a Nantucket aesthetic to any space, offering a sense of coastal calm year-round.

A Featured Artist on Homeworthy

Michelle’s work was recently featured in the Homeworthy episode “We’re traveling to Nantucket to tour the breezy and beautiful home of Meg Young, the founder of Cailíní Coastal.” Her paintings brought a touch of seaside tranquility to this stunning home, perfectly complementing Meg’s fresh and elegant interiors.

The Artist Behind the Brush

Though her brushwork feels spontaneous and fluid, Michelle describes herself as surprisingly structured and disciplined—a balance that gives her paintings both freedom and intention. A self-professed early bird, she loves the quiet of morning in the studio before anyone else is awake.

When she’s not painting, Michelle can often be found by the lake with her family, coffee in hand and a book nearby. Her husband, daughters, and parents are her biggest encouragers—her steadfast supporters in every creative chapter.

Painting Peace into Every Home

Michelle’s goal is simple and heartfelt: to create art that brings peace, serenity, and familiarity to the homes where it lives.

“Each painting begins as a personal reflection,” she explains, “but becomes a shared story once it finds its home—connecting people through memories, place, and the quiet beauty of coastal living.”

Her work draws from real moments by the water—quiet mornings, soft island light, and the timeless rhythms of lake life. “My hope,” she says, “is that when collectors see my work, they feel like they recognize these scenes from their own memories.”
